The Eiréné fund from Weinberg Capital Partners has taken a majority stake in the Semip-Codechamp group, the European leader in high-performance angular position sensors.
The Eiréné fund, dedicated to supporting SMEs in the security and defence sector, has made an initial investment in the Semip-Codechamp group to assist it in its next stage of growth. Eiréné is joining the group as a majority shareholder, alongside the management team who are reinvesting significantly in the deal.
Founded in 1960, the Semip-Codechamp group, headed by Serge Finkelstein, is a leading player in the field of high-performance angular position sensors for the most demanding markets: defence, space, civil nuclear and motor racing. The group, which places innovation at the heart of its strategy, employs around sixty people, a quarter of whom work in the design office and in R&D.
The group's development, which targets prestigious customers, has been built on unique expertise, a capacity for innovation and products recognised for their excellence and a level of performance that is unrivalled in Europe.
Weinberg Capital Partners' acquisition of a stake in Semip-Codechamp will accelerate the development and structuring of this innovative group, support its growth ambitions in its traditional markets as well as in new markets (civil and international) and enable it to embark on an external growth strategy.
The significant reinvestment by the management team alongside Weinberg Capital Partners reflects their deep conviction in the Group's development potential.
This primary transaction, the first for the Eiréné fund, is at the heart of Weinberg Capital Partners' expertise: supporting and structuring a group to enable it to accelerate its development through organic growth and acquisitions.
The deal closed on 12 July 2023.
« I am very pleased with the arrival of Weinberg Capital Partners, which we felt was the natural partner to help Semip-Codechamp structure itself and accelerate its development. The Eiréné team has demonstrated a detailed understanding of our businesses, genuine expertise in the defence sector and a real ability to provide support. We are therefore delighted to be joining forces with them in this new phase for the Group. »
